The MSC Bonneville in Burnt Sienna is built from 1.3 mm full-grain cowhide using a semi-vegetable-tanned process. The leather begins with a chrome tan for durability before being re-tanned with vegetable extracts, adding structure, a drier hand, and a more natural response to wear.
Built on a warm brown base with subtle red and amber undertones, the leather is finished using a semi-aniline process that preserves the natural character and full-grain texture of the hide while adding a light protective topcoat for improved colour fastness and reduced transfer.
Oils and waxes are worked into the leather to create a mild pull-up effect and natural tonal movement. As the jacket is handled, compressed, and worn, these oils and waxes migrate within the hide, creating lighter and darker areas across the surface. This is a natural characteristic of the leather rather than uneven dye or surface damage, and these variations will continue to shift and blend as the jacket breaks in.
Burnt Sienna is particularly reactive to light. The exact same jacket can appear noticeably different depending on the lighting environment. Direct sunlight and warm, directional light can bring out deeper reddish and amber tones, stronger contrast, and greater surface sheen, while soft, indirect, or cooler lighting can make the leather appear lighter and more muted. The wax-rich finish also reflects light differently depending on angle, making Burnt Sienna particularly difficult to represent accurately in a single photograph. Variations in perceived colour and sheen between product photography and different real-world lighting conditions should therefore be expected.
The body is fully lined in sage green cotton twill and finished with a Talon 10 mm main zipper with an arrowhead leather pull. The zipper begins slightly above the bottom hem to reduce stacking and distortion at the waistband.
A low-profile collar with shortened points creates a clean profile whether worn up or down. Across the back, a bi-swing action system provides additional shoulder mobility, complemented by a fixed half-belt, side buckle adjusters, rear V-yoke, and defined kidney panel.
Additional details include angled hand-warmer pockets, a YKK zippered chest pocket with chain pull, dual underarm ventilation grommets, snap-adjustable cuffs, and leather adjustment tabs with solid metal buckles.
Designed to evolve with wear, the Bonneville Burnt Sienna will gradually soften and develop a natural patina unique to each jacket.
Each jacket is designed in Toronto and built in our own dedicated workshop in Pakistan. We oversee every step from pattern drafting to leather selection to final inspection. Every jacket is individually photographed, measured, and quality-checked before leaving the shop. We produce in small batches using full-grain leathers, custom hardware, and offer complimentary custom sizing on all builds.
