The MSC Bonneville in Burnt Sienna is built from 1.3 mm full-grain cowhide using a semi-vegetable-tanned process. The leather begins with a chrome tan for durability before being re-tanned with vegetable extracts, adding structure, a drier hand, and a more natural response to wear.
The leather is aniline dyed over a warm brown base with subtle red and amber undertones, allowing the natural grain and character of the hide to remain visible. A very light protective topcoat is applied to improve colour fastness and reduce transfer while preserving the depth, texture, and natural feel of the leather.
Oils and waxes are worked into the hide to create a mild pull-up effect and natural tonal movement. As the jacket is handled, compressed, and worn, these oils and waxes shift within the leather, creating lighter and darker areas across the surface. Creasing, friction, handling, and everyday wear will gradually build variation throughout the jacket, allowing each piece to develop its own character over time.
Burnt Sienna can appear noticeably different depending on lighting. Warm or direct light tends to bring out deeper red and amber tones and greater surface sheen, while softer or cooler light can make the leather appear lighter and more muted. Because of this, some variation between product photography and how the leather appears in person should be expected.
The minimal protective finish also allows the leather to respond naturally to its environment. Exposure to moisture may create spotting or tonal variation as the surface oils and waxes shift. These changes will often soften and blend with handling and wear, becoming part of the evolving patina of the jacket. As with most naturally finished leathers, prolonged rain or saturation should be avoided, and if the jacket does become wet, it should be allowed to dry naturally at room temperature away from direct heat.
The body is fully lined in sage green cotton twill and finished with a Talon #10 main zipper with an arrowhead leather pull. The zipper begins slightly above the bottom hem to reduce stacking and distortion at the waistband.
A low-profile collar with shortened points creates a clean profile whether worn up or down. Across the back, a bi-swing action system provides additional shoulder mobility, complemented by a fixed half-belt, side buckle adjusters, rear V-yoke, and defined kidney panel.
Additional details include angled hand-warmer pockets, a YKK zippered chest pocket with chain pull, snap-adjustable cuffs, and leather adjustment tabs with solid metal buckles.
Burnt Sienna is designed to change rather than remain uniform. With wear, the leather will soften, deepen in character, and develop shifts in colour, sheen, creasing, and surface tone that make each jacket increasingly unique to its owner.
Each jacket is designed in Toronto and built in our own dedicated workshop in Pakistan. We oversee every step from pattern drafting to leather selection to final inspection. Every jacket is individually photographed, measured, and quality-checked before leaving the shop. We produce in small batches using full-grain leathers, custom hardware, and offer complimentary custom sizing on all builds.
